ANKARA, Sep. 28 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Çavuşoğlu have held talks in Ankara on bilateral issues, on Wednesday.

Iran's Zarif who left New York yesterday and arrived in Ankara early Wednesday, met with his Turkish counterpart behind closed doors.

The main axis of bilateral dialogue was on Syrian crisis, bilateral relations and other key regional issues.

The visit is the third meeting between the foreign ministers of the two countries in two months.

Iranian foreign minister visited Turkey late August this year holding meetings with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Prime Minister Binali Yildirim and Mevlut Çavuşoğlu.

Following the visit, Çavuşoğlu also came to Tehran in the way of his visit to India and spoke with Zarif about developments in the region.
