TEHRAN, Sep. 21 (MNA) – Hossein Esfahbodi, the Iranian Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade, recounted the details of an offer made by Iran for expanding cooperation on holding trade exhibitions in Tehran and Baku.

“These kinds of cooperation contribute to the economic objectives of the both countries [of Iran and Azerbaijan] and enhance the bilateral trade relations,” said Hossein Esfahbodi, the Iranian Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade, on Monday in Baku.

The Iranian official who was visiting the Iran Project Exhibition held in Baku Expo Center of Azerbaijan told the reporters that talks have been done on expansion of cooperation between Baku Expo Center and Iran International Exhibitions Company.

Esfahbodi recounted that upon Azeri’s acceptance of the offer proposed by Iran, Baku Expo Center would be able to use the permanent fairground of Tehran for free in exchange of the same offer to Iran International Exhibitions Company for holding fairs in Baku.

There are 80 international exhibitions held annually in Tehran and many of them like oil, gas, and pet-chem, construction, and health expos are the best events of their kind in the Middle East,” asserted the deputy minister, “while Iran also attends many international exhibitions around the world.”

The official touched upon many cultural, religious, and historical commonalities shared by Iran and Azerbaijan and articulated that the commonalities have positively contributed to the expansion of bilateral ties between the two countries.
