TEHRAN, Sep. 11 (MNA) – Foreign Minister Spokesman Ghasemi underlined that the ceasefire in Syria should be lasting and enforcing, preventing terrorists from rearming and re-strengthening.

Reacting to the agreement reached by Russia and US to reinstate the Syrian ceasefire on September 12, Bahram Ghasemi reaffirmed that Islamic Republic of Iran has always been a supporter of truce in Syria and delivery of humanitarian aid to all Syrian nation.

“The agreement does not include terrorist groups like ISIL, Jabhat al-Nasra and newly established ones; international community needs to deal with the issue unconditionally, seriously and constantly; noting the experience of recent months with regards to cessation of hostilities agreement, the ceasefire needs to be sustainable and enforceable not providing the terrorists with any chance of beefing up and re-equipping,” said foreign ministry spokesperson.

He underlined “as the Syrian government has emphasized repetitively, lack of enforcement leads to violations of the agreement; therefore the continuation of the truce relies on establishing inclusive observance system particularly controlling the borders to block the flow of new terrorists, financial support and arms.”

Noting the issue of humanitarian aid during the ceasefire, Ghasemi said the delivery has to be done with no discrimination, to all regions controlled or besieged by terrorist.
