TEHRAN, Aug. 19 (MNA) – Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ghasemi announced that Turkey’s Cavusoglu has paid a short unscheduled visit to Tehran on Thursday.

“The visit aimed at following up the agreements reached during Mr. Zarif’s recent trip to Ankara,” Bahram Ghasemi underlined on Friday.

Foreign Minister Zarif and his Turkish counterpart held talks on latest regional developments as well as Tehran-Ankara bilateral ties that lasted for five hours, he added.

“During Foreign Minister Zarif’s visit to Turkey last week, it was agreed upon that the two countries’ officials keep in touch constantly, either officially or unofficially; therefore it is expected that several meetings would be held between Iranian and Turkish officials in near future,” Ghasemi reaffirmed.
