Alaeddin Boroujerdi told reporters on Wednesday that no Russian fighter would permanently use the airbase and that their merely fueling in the Nojeh Airbase near Hamedan had been approved by Supreme National Security Council and in the framework of Iran-Russia-Iraq-Syria quadrilateral agreement on targeting terrorism; “this is in line with Iran’s own political will to tackle terrorism; the service provided for Russian fighters is to allow them to replenish their fuel tanks in the airbase and fly to Syria to target terrorist strongholds,” he detailed.
“Israeli media had been doing disinformation of the public in reporting that S-400 missile system has been deployed in Hamedan, while the reality is that no Russian protracted presence in Islamic Republic of Iran has been planned,” Boroujerdi told reporters. “SNSC has approved fueling of Russian fighter jets in the airbase and no unduly exaggerated media propaganda should be directed to a usual military cooperation.”
