TEHRAN, Aug. 15 (MNA) – Parliament's General Director for International Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian ensured that Islamic Republic of Iran is carefully following Yemen’s developments and supports any solution based on domestic political dialogue and with no foreign intervention.

Speaking among a Yemeni political delegation here on Monday, Amir-Abdollahian slammed Saudi aggression against Yemen stressing that only a political solution would solve Yemen’s issue.

Felicitating the resumption of Yemeni parliament activities in Sanaa, Iranian diplomat said the parliaments are symbols of democracy in countries and the act of Yemen’s lawmakers indicates that the political leaders and people of Yemen preserve their territorial integrity and national unity.

He underlined that Iran’s parliament welcomes the expansion of ties with Yemen’s House of Representatives.

Hailing the resistance of Yemeni people against foreign aggression, Amir-Abdollahian said Yemeni people defended their independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and national unity on four military, economic, diplomatic and propaganda fronts.

Head of Yemen’s political delegation, for his part, while condemning the economic blockade and inhumane act of killing innocent people including women and children in Yemen, said “during the war, defenseless people and economic infrastructure of Yemen did not survive from Saudi Arabia’s violence and invasion and the invaders blocked medical services and financial assistance to the people of Yemen.

Despite all the attacks and various economic and social sanctions, Yemen’s House of Representatives held its session which is supported by the public, he noted.

He underlined that House of Representatives welcomes expansion of cooperation with Iranian Parliament at various levels.
