TEHRAN, Aug. 03 (MNA) – Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi has been appointed as new head of Iran's Supreme National Defense University (SNDU).

By order of Major General Mohammad Hossein Bagheri, the Chief of General Staff of Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Vahidi was selected as the new dean of the Iranian Supreme National Defense University.

Previously, Ebrahim Hassan Beigi was the Chancellor of the Supreme National Defense University.

Inauguration of Brig. Gen. Vahidi is scheduled to be held on Thursday in a ceremony to be attended by a number of Armed Forces commanders.

Located in Tehran, Supreme National Defense University is a subordinate of General Staff of Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran dedicated to doctoral-level work on military doctrine, applied defense sciences and management.

In line with prospects of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the university is in charge of educating elite, military and police commanders, senior managers of civilian organizations various strategic fields.
