TEHRAN, Jul. 31 (MNA) – Head of Parl. Nat. Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi and two other members of the Commission will depart for Syria on Mon. to evaluate the security developments in the war-torn country.

Following the formation of specialized committees by Iran’s Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, as well as the Commission’s recent meetings on evaluation of the latest developments in region, Alaeddin Boroujerid, the Commission’s head, along with Hajar Chenarani and Shahrouz Barzegar as representatives of the Commission’s members, will depart for Syria tomorrow morning.

During the visit, the Iranian delegation will hold talks with Syrian Parliament speaker and other parliamentary officials. Meeting with President Bashar al-Assad is also on the agenda.

The visit aims at evaluating the latest situation and security developments in Syria and reaffirming the Islamic Republic’s support for the Resistance and the right of sovereignty for Syrian people.

Meanwhile, the United Nations Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura arrived in Tehran on Sunday to hold talks with senior Iranian officials, ahead of Syrian peace talks.
