Iranian basketball players celebrated their fifth victory at the eminent sportive tournament by breezing past Japan 73-65 in a breath-taking match held today at Hsinchuang Gymnasium in New Taipei City of Taiwan.
The Persians had previously bagged three straight wins over Taiwan B, the US representative Sacramento as well as Egypt before conceding two defeats against South Korea and Taiwan A teams.
After suffering the two losses, the Iranian outfit pulled out a sweeping victory over the Philippines on Friday.
Led by Mehran Shahintab, Iran’s national team is scheduled to compete its eighth showdown against the Indian team on Sunday.
