TEHRAN, Jul. 20 (MNA) – Defense minister has told Parliament open session on Wednesday the ministry has deployed part of S300 missile system delivered by Russia.

Naghavi Hosseini, a Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Commission member, told Mehr News about a meeting with Brig. Gen. Hossein Dehghan, Minister of Defense, where the minister provided extensive report of the latest conditions on country's security issues. "Mr. Boroujerdi, the Commission head, made some remarks about country's security and defense, expressing hopes that the ministry would develop better relations with the Commission in new Parliament; Mr. Dehghan emphasized that boosting country's defensive backbone should be a priority for all decision-making bodies," Naghavi Hosseini told Mehr News.

"Mr. Dehghan ensured the Parliament commission that on cyberwar, the ministry could score significant level of success with wider plans still on the ground to be implemented; updating and renewal of structures were also underway in the ministry; he also emphasized that the ministry had been self-sufficient in overhauling aircrafts and planes," Naghavi Hosseini detailed about the meeting.

"Defense Minister Dehghan also made an important point about the deployment of part of S300 missile defense system delivered by Russia earlier this year; he made the point when he was speaking in details about Defense Ministry's advancements in electronic weapons and satellites, weapons of the sea and the land, and no less important radar industry," he added.
