TEHRAN, Jul. 18 (MNA) – Iran’s FM Zarif has urged gaining as mush advantage as possible from the JCPOA despite all barriers to its implementation.

Foreign Minister of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif said the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) "enjoys a good status given the current international conditions though American’s have not remained fully committed to their obligations.”

He stressed that JCPAO needed to be investigated and evaluated in the context of the time as well as in the context of its method of implementation.

“In view of time conditions, the deal was inked at point when the US Congress would pass an anti-Iran legislation once in every few months as they were planning to decrease volume of Iran’s oil exports to zero,” added Zarif.

The official underlined that the deal was reached at a time when the Security Council had adopted six resolutions against Iran in an effort to make Iran deprived of its right to benefit from peaceful nuclear energy.

Negotiations kicked off at a point in time when Iran lacked favorable conditions in international arenas, asserted Zarif.

“From a global perspective, when negotiations began, Iran was on one side while six world powers were on the other side who enjoyed support of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), the Europe Union (EU) and several centers of global power including financial and commercial institutions,” said the Iranian FM.

He noted that JCPOA marks a significant achievement when viewed from these two perspectives since it preserved the Iranian nation’s dignity, recognized their rights, canceled UNSC resolutions and prevented imposition of new sanctions.

He outlined the people of Iran as the main winners of the deal since they proved that nothing can be imposed against them by applying pressure.

Maintaining that a real win-win contract is non-existent, FM Zarif said even in the US many complaints are being made against JCPAO a year after its implementation; “many in the US argue that America has lost its international consensus against Iran as well as the ban on its missile program.”

Mohammd Javad Zarif also criticized the stance taken by United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon over the country’s missile program asserting “unfortunately, many wrong measures have been taken by the UN chief including removal of Saudi Arabia from child rights violators' blacklist which he deemed as one of the toughest decisions in his life,” and urged UN chief to refrain from making unprofessional comments on JCPOA.

Minister of foreign affairs later emphasized the need for seriousness and careful observation for carrying out obligations in JCPAO as well as for preventing the other party from violating the deal.

“JCPOA remains as the defendable document,” highlighted the official underlining “in the context of time, the deal can receive an acceptable mark though the US has not remained fully committed to it.”

Zarif said the deal could be used in line with policies of Resistance Economy adding “we exploit these potentials to make the country’s economy more resilient to risks of JCPOA violation on the part of the US.”

“Taking into account all these factors on the anniversary of JCPOA implementation, it can be decided that the agreement led to the Iranian nation’s dignity in the international arena,” continued the official.

He further enumerated several outcomes of JCPAO for the country including the increase in crude exports from less than one to more than two million barrels in six months, reaching normal conditions in transport as well as conducting banking relations with numerous world banks.

“Considering all these facts, a great future is awaiting the country,” stressed Iran’s FM saying “JCPOA could benefit the country greatly by promoting Resistance Economy policies.”
