Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Javad Zarif was quoted by Spokesperson of Parliament Presiding Board Behrouz Nemati as saying “certain known agents in the US congress are after spreading Iranophobia in order to present a turbulent image of business atmosphere in Iran; however, the Iranian government’s effective measures have impeded their efforts as investment is growing inside the country.”
Behrouz Nemati, while describing today's closed session of the Parliament, said “Iranian FM presented a report to MPs on recent terrorist attacks in France as well as the Turkish attempted coup d’état.”
“Mr. Zarif pointed to implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) emphasizing the fact that foreign investment is thriving in Iran despite interferences caused by the US Congress,” underlined Nemati.
He said Zarif also evaluated terrorist attacks in France explaining “the two recent events in the European country have no religious context; rather, they were executed by second and third generation immigrants in France as a revenge against social issues underway in Paris.”
“Zarif further said Iran’s Foreign Ministry condemns all terrorist incidents including the attack in France,” Nemati continued.
The official further quoted Iran’s foreign minister as saying “a number of military agents in Turkey took certain steps which was monitored by Iran's Supreme National Security Council who made contacts with Turkish counterparts and the coup was defeated.”
Behrouz Nemati emphasized that “Zarif also denounced the attempted coup d’état in the neighboring country emphasizing the role of people in strengthening democracy.”
