Ali Akbar Velayati will participate in the convention on 18-19 July as one of the key speakers and hold separate meetings with senior officails of Singapore on the sideline of the major event.
The 3rd South Asian Diaspora Convention (SADC) is being hosted by the Institute of South Asian Studies (ISAS), National University of Singapore (NUS), and expected to bring together more than 1,000 distinguished guests and more than 50 of the region’s leading policymakers, business leaders, academics and civil society leaders from Japan, India, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, UK, Pakistan and Australia.
Key participants in the convention include Singapore’s and Sri Lanka’s prime ministers, as well as chief ministers from India and the region.
This year’s convention is entitled ‘Growth through Interaction – The South Asian Opportunity’ and will focus on five key areas of the economic and political needs of South Asia: Geopolitics, Education, Start-ups and Entrepreneurship, Law and Business, and Diaspora and Citizenship.
Following his two-day stay in Singapore, Velayati will depart for Malaysia to hold talks with the country’s senior officials.
