TEHRAN, Jul. 16 (MNA) – Iranian chess players have managed to bag three victories and three draws at the fifth round of Chess Stars Cup underway in the country’s Caspian port city of Bandar Anzali.

The 1st Chess Stars Cup is being competed in Bander Anzali Free Zone, Iran from July 9th to 21st.

Aryan Gholami of Iran managed to prevail over the French Grandmaster Edouard Romain.

Mikheil Mchedlishvili of Georgia was defeated by the Iranian Grandmaster Ehsan Ghaem Maghami as well as that Shahin Lorpari got the upper hand over the Chinese rival Lu Shanglei.

Meanwhile, three other games of Amirreza Pourramezanali vs. Armenia’s Gabriel Sargissian, Parham Maghsoudloo vs. Aleksey Dreev of Russia as well as Pouya Idani vs. the Netherland’s Ivan ended in a tie.

Accordingly, the Iranian outfit remained undefeated in the fifth round of the sportive event though the overall result is still in favor of the World team.
