TEHRAN, Jul. 12 (MNA) – Iranian director Reza Servati intends to perform a reproduction of the play ‘Woyzeck' by Georg Büchner on stage in Italy and France.

Servati, while touching upon international appearance of his works, said “a while ago, Macbeth was staged at the Festival of Iranian Modern Arts in Bologna of Italy which was warmly received by the audience and reviewers.”

“One good feature of the Italian festival was that along with exhibition of modern cinema, theater and visual arts of Iran, Iranian poetry and literature were also taught to Italians,” he added.

The young Iranian director said the drama entitled Woyzeck is scheduled to be shown in Europe early next year; “accordingly, the play will have a public performance in Italy before taking part at France’s Nancy Festival,” he noted.

Servati also reported on the plan to put on his other work entitled Macbeth in the International Gdansk Festival of Poland by the next Iranian calendar year (will begin on March 21, 2017).

He further pointed out to the plan to perform Woyzeck in a domestic theater before getting the European tour on the road.
