A high-ranking delegation of WHO is in Tehran to unveil new agreement with INCAS which officially announces the Center a WHO partner in training and research on disorders related to drug abuse in human psychological health.
Ali Jafarian, President of Tehran University of Medical Sciences told reporters during the unveiling ceremony on Monday that the Center had accepted the partnership offer by WHO; “Center has been active for 15 years in research, policy-making, and training with invaluable experiences and achievements; addiction is country’s most pressing issue; the Center according to the severity of the issue, has engaged in research on clinical examinations of addiction, with wider treatment services presented to the affected individuals,” Jafarian added.
“The Center had achieved a significant and a pioneering status in the region, on which WHO officials congratulated the Center for the feat and offered partnership; Iran would provide an example of excellence in addiction treatment and would provide other countries with methods and experiences in controlling addiction,” he concluded.
