Iranian first Vice-President Es’haq Jahangiri deemed negotations held between the two countries’ high-ranking delegations ‘positive’ and ‘constructive’, adding “the talks focused on cooperation in various fields such as gas and oil, transport, industry, agriculture and joint investment.”
Jahangiri went on to add that the two sides also conferred on regional issues such as terrorism and extremism, as well as the required approaches to combat them; “I hope that with the help of the global will to fight terrorism, the threat of these extremist groups will be removed from the region once and for all.”
Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, for his part, highlighted the political will on both sides for taking serious steps toward fulfillment of national interests, adding “starting today, Bulgaria is ready to provide all necessary conditions for the implementation of projects and agreements between the two countries.”
“We received a very good proposal about establishing a new corridor between Iran, Armenia, Georgia and Bulgaria that can pave the ground for better and easier exports between these two regions,” he added.
The Bulgarian prime minister also expressed hope that the two countries would further expand economic relations through solving banking issues.
