TEHRAN, Jul. 05 (MNA) – Secretary of Supreme National Security Council has told a Parliament meeting Tafiri terrorists have no longer in Iraq and Syria.

Ali Shamkhani addressed Parliament closed-door session on Tuesday morning to present Parliamentarians with a report of the latest SNSC activities in a session which addressed defense, political, and intelligence issues across the Middle East.

Behrouz Nemati, Spokesperson of Parliament Presiding Board informed Mehr News of the content of the closed-door session that the session addressed policies on Resistance Economy; “internal security also provided a subject matter for the Parliament session. Mr. Shamkhani addressed the meeting about regional threats, Takfiri groups and their attempts to infiltrate the country from eastern and western borders, which have been aborted by border forces,” Nemati told reporters.

“SNSC secretary also provided information about country’s diplomatic machinery as well as intelligence and their laudable attempt to restrict the enemies’ scopes in the region; major part of his address touched JCPOA where he ensured Parliament of ‘close scrutiny’ of the sessions of JCPOA Follow-up Committee,” Nemati added.

“The US has still been working to keep the major architecture of sanctions unchanged which aims to forestall Iran’s defensive capabilities in the region; in response to this, SNSC has been closely watching implementation of provisions of directive dated October 20 2015 issued by the Leader,” Shamkhani has told Parliament.

“On Syria, Iraq, Yemen, and Bahrain, Shamkhani emphasized that Takfiris’ strength and recruitment in the region had largely eroded; he also informed Parliament that some countries in the region still provided support for ISIL and other terrorist groups, and had direct role in fueling sectarian violence in Iraq and Syria,” he concluded.
