TEHRAN, Jul. 04 (MNA) – According to a report recently published by SCImago database, Iran is ranked first in aerospace engineering in the Middle East and 11th in the world.

Parviz Karami, Advisor to Vice President of Science and Technology, said the data released by SCImago Journal and Country Rank website, reports an improvement in Iran’s ranking in science production in the field of aerospace engineering in 2015.

“Iran has been placed in the 11th standing in 2015 before Spain, Netherlands, Brazil, Switzerland, Mexico and Ukraine,” he said.

He went on to add, “Iran has been ranked first in the Middle East and 11th in the world by producing 341 articles and with 101 citations in the field of aerospace engineering; this is while the country was ranked 14th and below Spain and the Netherlands in 2014.”

He expressed hope that this scientific growth would lead to development of the country’s technologies and aerospace and aviation industry.
