Iran’s Parliament Speaker made the remark at Government’s Iftar banquet on Sunday evening, adding “providing proper conditions for domestic and foreign investments is of utmost importance in the post-sanctions era, yet we are still far behind our intended goals according to global ratings.”
Larijani stressed more serious measures in lifting sanctions, adding “there are still some obstacles in this regard which we are pursuing in the Security Council. Now we are in need of more effective measures for the removal of sanctions.”
“I do believe that after the settlement of Iran’s nuclear deal, certain countries are making attempts to bring a kind of conspiracy against the Islamic Republic,” Larijani said. “Given Iran’s influence in the region, they seek to create a regional conflict for Iran and restrict its influence.”
He went on to note that certain countries are seeking to create a ‘geopolitical isolation’ for Iran, adding “therefore, it is highly necessary to have more diplomatic moves in the region and expand our political, cultural and economic relations with neighboring countries.”
“Definitely, during the most difficult of times, having good relations with neighboring countries has always been a solution to such problems and seeing how the enemies are trying to trap Iran in a regional bottleneck, it is all the more important to give special consideration to our regional diplomacy,” he said.
