TEHRAN, Jul. 02 (MNA) – Iran has surpassed Switzerland and Canada in SJR (Scientific Journal Rankings) 2015 on dentistry and is currently ranked 12 in the world.

Saeid Asgari, Secretary of Iran’s Oral Health Council of the Ministry of Health, said Saturday that Iran has managed to move up two places in 2015 Scientific Journal Rankings on dentistry and is currently ranked 12 by exceeding Switzerland and Canada.

“Data from the SJR website shows the United States, Brazil, United Kingdom and India are ranked the top four countries by having produced over 1,000 articles on dentistry,” he said.

Asgari went on to add, “Iran, thus, by having produced 305 articles in 2015 is ranked 12 in the world, after Spain and South Korea each with 400 scientific articles to their name.”

“Although the country’s ranking on all sciences has been the same 16th in 2014 and 2015, the ranking of dentistry sciences has been greatly improved during the same period of time,” he said.

“At the moment, the Islamic Republic holds the first ranking in the Middle East in producing articles in all subject areas with Turkey coming second, but the country is placed after Turkey in dentistry and medicine,” he explained.
