TEHRAN, Jun. 29 (MNA) – The 17th edition of International and Iranian Congress of Microbiology with participation of 15 top microbiology professors from around the world will be held in Tehran University of Medical Sciences.

Dr. Pezhvak Khaki, the congress secretary, said the 17th edition of International and Iranian Congress of Microbiology will be held in Tehran University of Medical Sciences on 23-25 June, 2016.

Microbiologists, pharmacists, dentists, veterinarians, laboratory scientists and all paramedical courses and related sciences can benefit from the issues raised during the Congress, he said.

The main topics of the Congress include antimicrobial resistance, microorganisms, hospital infections, modern methods for identifying microbes, microbial biotechnology, new vaccines, zooneotic diseases, etc.

“For the very first time in this congress, oral microbiology, microbial nanotechnology and sexually transmitted infections will be specifically discussed,” he said.

He went on to add that 15 top professors from around the world including Prof. Joan Joseph Munne, Prof. Jean-Marc Cavaillon, Prof. Joachim Wink, and Prof. Yung-Fu Chang, will participate in the congress as key speakers and share their achievements and results of their research with the participants.

Other important topics including the HIV vaccine will be also discussed during the Congress.
