TEHRAN, Jun. 29 (MNA) – Iran’s Tasisat Daryaei futsal club landed in the eight place at the 2016 Futsal Intercontinental Cup held in Qatar.

In a playoff match over 7th and 8th places at the international tournament, Iran’s representative Tasisat Darayei conceded a 1-2 defeat against Benfica of Portugals failing to gain any better ranking than eight.

In their earlier encounters, Iranian futsal players has lost to Spain’s FC Barcelona Lassa (2-4) as well as Brazil’s Carlos Barbosa (3-4) while they had drawn against the Russian club Dynamo Moscu FC (2-2).

The event will wrap up today with the Brazilian teams Carlos Barbosa and Magnus Futsal competing in the finals in addition to Qatar’s Al Rayyan and the Spanish giant FC Barcelona Lassa who will fight for third and fourth places.

Futsal Intercontinental Cup is being attended by eight top teams in the world and will is underway at the Ali bin Hamad Al Attiya Arena in Al Sadd and Aspire’s Ladies Sports Hall from June 24 to 29.

In its 15th edition, the Intercontinental Futsal Cup is considered to be one of the best club’s tournaments in the world.
