TEHRAN, Jun. 26 (MNA) – Five armed gang members of a counter-revolutionary cell, including two of its leaders, were killed during clashes with IRGC forces in northwest of Iran on Fri. night.

The Public Relations department of IRGC Ground Forces in a statement on Saturday released new details of Friday night’s operations during which the IRGC forces engaged a number of counter-revolutionary gunmen in the border area of Sarvabad in Kurdistan province and the general area of Mahabad in West Azerbaijan province located in northwest of Iran.

According to the statement, during the clashes, five armed mercenaries of the global arrogance, including gang leaders ‘Arash Manbari’ and ‘Shouresh Manbari’ were killed.

The statement adds a considerable amount of weapons, ammunitions and equipment were seized from the gunmen.

The public relations department further stressed that during this successful operation, no IRGC forces received any injuries.

According to an informed military source, the two leaders killed during the operation had been in charge of recruiting and training terrorists and planned to infiltrate Iran.
