The 21st Triennial opened on April 2 and will continue to September 12. Iran’s pavilion will display Iranian traditional bazaar as emblematic of its culture and architecture; bazaar has traditionally been a venue for design and more concrete communication of the man and design.
Arash Ahmadi, architect in Milan, and curator of Iran’s pavilion in the Triennial, drew upon a 3D printing technique to reproduce works of some of Iranian young designers to be displayed in Iran’s stand in the event. 3D printed versions will, as Arash would say, be displayed in Palazzo della Permanente, to be displayed for interested public and experts alike. TMCA’s design center also contributed to reproduction of 3D prints.
The innovation in design and display by Iranian pavilion took the interest of Claudio De Alberts, president of the event. The innovation also won for Iran the recognition with distinction among 5 best innovative stands selected by International Biennial Association for using concept in display of 3D technology and also popularity of the stand among the public.
The mode of representation in 3D design connected Iran’s pavilion to TMCA’s design center in Milan Triennial. This mode of virtual representation is environmentally friendly since it uses the least human energy. TMCA’s Majid Mollanorouzi along with Arash Ahmadi, the curator will work with Sahar Nikzad and Arash Shojaei to display the Iran’s pavilion.
