HELSINKY, May 31 (MNA) – Iran’s Javad Zarif who arrived in Finland earlier Tuesday, has met with country’s speaker of the parliament.

Mohammad Javad Zarif and Ms. Maria Lohela discussed possibilities of improving bilateral ties especially between parliaments. Mr. Zarif told the meeting that both countries enjoyed a modest level of relations where traders and businessmen along with diplomatic delegations frequented both capitals. He also expressed hopes that new Parliament in Iran, which started working only recently, would move a direction conducive to improved relations with Finish parliament.

 Maria Lohela for her part, also was in general agreement with Zarif on the necessity of wider relations between parliaments; the meeting was also attended by Finish members of Iran-Finland Parliamentary Friendship Group, Mr. Pertti Salolainen the head of the group welcomed improved relations with Iranian parliament.
