Swedish Ambassador to Tehran Peter Tejler made the announcement in his Twitter account on Friday, adding Zarif’s visit is ‘encouraging after many visits to Iran by Swedish companies, banks and investors.’
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hossein Jaberi Ansari, when asked by Mehr News Agency about the details of the future visit of FM Zarif to Central Europe during his press conference on May 23, said Zarif would make a 5-day visit to Poland, Sweden, Latvia and Finland next week which includes diplomatic consultations, delivering speeches and holding various meetings with the countries’ senior officials.
He went on to add that Zarif would also visit other countries following this tour, the details of which would be released to the public in due time.
The Swedish minister for energy Ibrahim Baylan visited Tehran in April and held talks with Iranian Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh on bolstering trade cooperation with Iran.
