Nematzadeh made the remarks during a meeting with the visiting Minister of Entrepreneurship and Crafts Darko Horvat adding “Iran’s industrial policy is to hold joint investment with Croatia in order to reach joint production either in Iran or Croatia and to export surplus of our production; a goal which demands introduction of industrial capabilities of the two countries as well as cooperation between Iranian and Croat firms.”
Iran’s industry minister further noted that Iran’s possesses a trademark in majority of industrial productions maintaining “we possess good experiences in numerous fields including auto making, component production, food processing, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, plastic, household equipment, mining industries like ceramics, telecommunications as well as petrochemical industries.
Nematzadeh suggested that a representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran be introduced to Croatia before the establishment of a joint commission between the two countries; “also, a two-year road map needs to be defined for boosting industrial and trade ties between Iran and Croatia.”
He expressed regret that due to sanctions, the level of cooperation between the two parties has remained very low voicing hope that collaborations will get promoted to the desired level by removing the banking obstacles as well as by Iran joining the World Trade Organization.”
The Croat Minister Darko Horvat, for his part, recommended that the joint commission between Iran and Croatia be formed twice a year in order to boost ties between businesses and small and medium industries of the two countries; “bilateral cooperation between Croatia and Iran can take place in numerous fields including as food industry, agriculture, electronics, agricultural products and tourism,” he concluded.
