TEHRAN, May 19 (MNA) – An Iranian commander stated that the US left the region for the proxy wars after they recognized it was impossible to encounter Iran directly.

“High military capacity of Iran’s armed forces drove the enemy to leave the region embarrassingly, and the proxy wars in the Middle East are the legacies of enemies,” said the Commander of the Iranian Army's Ground Forces Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan early on Thursday.

He highlighted the courage of Iranian forces who act as advisors in the region and asserted that US, Israeli regime, and their allies, when found themselves unable to tackle Iran’s military power, lost their courage and planned proxy wars.

“Theoretical education and training of the military forces, the upgrading of the equipment, tactics, and facilities, and enhancement of the beliefs of the forces, are the three major elements of Armed forces’ strength,” the general recounted the reasons for Iranians’ military deterrence.

Pourdastan asserted that "Takfiries, extremists, and the ISIL are fighting for the causes of the US, Israeli regime, and their Arab allies" and reassured that "army forces are monitoring the enemies beyond the borders 24/7."
