On Tuesday, Ghader Mizbani of Shahrdari Tabriz cycling team rode a distance of 180 kilometers from Sareyn in Ardabil Province to the northwestern Iranian city of Tabriz clicking 5:16.38 and snatched the gold medal.
Arivin Gudarzi of Iran’s Pishgaman Yazd cycling team finished runner-up bagging the bronze medal and Mahdi Sohrabi pulled off a bronze medal for Shahrdari Tabriz.
Accordingly, Iranian cyclists demonstrated great athletic skills to remain atop the fifth stage of the international event.
The 31st edition of Tour of Iran (Azarbaijan) kicked off on May 13, and will run through May 18, 2016.
A total of 21 teams have taken part in the tournament. The tour has six stages, with the total length of 1,005 kilometers (624.4 miles).
The sixth and final stage of the sportive even is taking place today with the start line in Tabriz and a distance of 114 kilometers.
