TEHRAN, May 15 (MNA) – The Islamic Research and Training Institute (IRTI) will discuss how to leverage Sukuk potentials for infrastructure development in a forum to be held in Indonesia.

The Islamic Research and Training Institute (IRTI), a Member of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Group, will hold a forum to discuss how to leverage Sukuk potentials for infrastructure development on 17 May 2016 in Jakarta, Indonesia.

IRTI is organizing the forum under the auspices of the first Annual Islamic Finance Conference, in conjunction with the 41st IDB Group Annual Meeting. The theme is “Sukuk for Infrastructure Financing and Financial Inclusion Strategy”.

The forum is aimed to promote the use of Islamic financing to fund infrastructure projects and to enhance financial inclusion.

Experts and policymakers will discuss the issues surrounding regulatory frameworks, structuring innovative Sukuk, Sukuk issuance for infrastructure financing, and developing new product structures.

Indonesian Minister of Finance, Prof. Bambang P.S. Brodjonegoro, is to deliver the opening speech, while Vice Minister of Finance, Prof. Mardiasmo, will deliver the closing the remarks.

“The forum will provide better appreciation of the challenges associated with Sukuk issuance, and generate ideas to facilitate and encourage more innovative Sukuk issuance particularly for infrastructure financing,” IRTI Director General, Prof. Mohamed Azmi Omar, said.

The Sukuk forum is one of IRTI’s four side events during the IDB Annual Meeting in Indonesia.
