DAMASCUS, May 14 (MNA) – The Commissioner-General of the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, Pierre Krahenbuhl, has described as positive the permanent cooperation of the Syrian government.

Krahenbuhl stated that the country is working hard to satisfy the Palestinian refugees’ needs, especially those displaced from Yarmouk and currently living in temporary centers in Yalda, Babila and Beit Sahm, in the province of Damascus.

He also expressed his satisfaction that the evacuation of Basic Education students from the Yarmouk camp, so they can prepare for their final examinations, has been assured.

Syria has received nearly 500,000 Palestinians since the 1940s and gives them equal social and political rights with national citizens.
