TEHRAN, Apr. 30 (MNA) – Iran’s national junior freestyle wrestling team has landed second at Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation Cup in Baku.

The International Freestyle and Greco-Roman Wrestling Tournament among Cadets and Juniors dubbed as Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation Cup took place in Azerbaijani capital of Baku where the hosts claimed the title with 89 points.

Azerbaijan was followed by Iran and Georgia who stood on the second and third podiums with 73 and 64 points, respectively.

The Iranian squad won 3 gold, 2 silver as well as 3 bronze medals of the event.

Iran’s Peyman Biabani, Kamran Ghasempour and Amirreza Zmiri won gold medals of 60, 84 and 120kg weight categories.

Alireza Goudarzi and Hossein Shahbazi were Iranian freestylers who bagged silver medals of 50 and 96kg sections.

Meanwhile, Kheirollah Ghahramani (55kg), Mahdi Niazi (60kg) as well as Ahmad Bazri (74kg) only managed to secure bronze medals for the Iranian outfit.
