TEHRAN, Apr. 27 (MNA) – Iran Under-14 girls' national football team has opened the AFC U-14 Regional Girl's Football Championship with a win over host Tajikistan.

The regional football championship of Asia 2016 among girls under 14 years in South and Central Asia started in Tajikistan on April 26 and the Iranian outfit managed to down the host rivals 3-nil.

Maryam Mohammadi (2 goals) and Bahareh Sirous found the net for Iran U-14 team in the sportive event.

Iranian footballers are scheduled to play their second match against Kyrgyzstan on Wednesday and will meet Bhutan one day later.

Iran has been drawn in Group B along with Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Bhutan.

Group B consists of Nepal, India and Bangladesh.
