NEW YORK, Apr. 24 (MNA) – The Non-Aligned Movement condemned in the strongest terms the Israeli government's provocative meeting in the occupied Syrian Golan on April 17th.

The Movement, in a statement issued on Saturday, considered this provocative meeting and the relevant Israeli statements as "flagrant violation of international law and the UN Security Council resolutions, especially No. 497 of 1981.

NAM asserted that "all the procedures taken or will be taken by the Israeli occupation to change the legal and demographic status of the occupied Syrian Golan and impose the occupation's laws and administrative measures on it are null and void and are of no legal basis".

The Movement reiterated its decision adopted during the 17th ministerial NAM conference, which took place from 26-29 May 2014 in Algeria, concerning the occupied Syrian Golan, renewing its call on Israel to comply with the UN Security Council No. 497 of 1981 and fully withdraw from the occupied Syrian territory to the line of 4 June 1967 in accordance with the UN Security Council resolutions 242 and 338.

The Non-Aligned Movement comprises 120 countries as members in addition to 17 countries as observers.
