TEHRAN, Apr. 13 (MNA) – The first European ship for carrying petrochemical products moored at Pars Petrochemical Port in Assalouyeh on Tuesday.

Following the arrival in Kharg Terminal of oil tankers leased by Total of France, Lukoil of Russia and France’s Cepsa, the first European oil company tied up at Assalouyeh’s Pars Petrochemical Port on Tuesday to load Iranian petrochemical products.

Accordingly, the vessel, which belongs to an Italian firm, has moored at Pars Petrochemical Port at Pars Special Economic-Energy Zone in Assalouyeh and loaded the liquid chemical products produced at Assalouyeh’s petrochemical complexes.

The arrived of the Italian ship marks the first docking of a European ship at Pars terminal while more vessels of other European companies are expected to enter the Iran’s largest petrochemical port.

Pars Petrochemical port with 15 berths and draught of 15 meters can accommodate ships of capacity 80,000 tons deadweight that especially carry gas and petrochemical products.

The nominal capacity of this port is 35 million tons per year and it is predicted that 26 million tons of petrochemical products in liquid from will be exported through this port.

Pars Petrochemical Port enjoys all port facilities, communication equipment, infrastructures, watchtowers and lighthouses and will be active round-the-clock.
