According to the public relations office of 34th FIFF, the 2016 jury panel of the festival comprises Golab Adineh, Sahraa Karimi, Javed Jaffrey, Maria Teresa Cavina and Ismaël Ferroukhi.
Iranian actress Golab Adineh has acted in rather than 20 films and has won Crystal Simorgh for best supporting actress for acting in “Blue Veil” from 13th Fajr International Film Festival. Also she was nominee for crystal Simporgh for films ‘I’m not Diego Maradona’, ‘Mum’s Guest’, ‘When Everyone Was Asleep’, ‘Fifth Season’, and ‘May Lady’. Alongside her main activities, she also active in casting and teaching acting.
Sahraa Karimi, Afghan filmmaker, is the first and only woman from Afghanistan, who has a PhD degree in the field of Cinema. She is also the only Afghan filmmaker, who is an active member of Slovak Film and TV Academy. She is better known for her film ‘Afghan Women Behind the Wheel’ which won about 25 awards from important film festivals around the word and her film ‘Light Breeze’ won the academy award from Slovak Film and TV Academy as a best short fiction film.
Javed Jaffrey, an Indian actor, producer, and director, has done more than 200 live Indian and International shows. He won his first IIFA Award for best comic role in Salaam Namaste in 2006. Javed Jaffrey has been honored with the life membership of International Film and Television Club of Asian Academy of Film & Television.
Award-winning writer and director Ismaël Ferroukhi from Morocco is best known for his debut feature film ‘Le Grand Voyage’. It was presented in many well-known festivals around the world such as Venice, Namur, Mar Del Plata, BAFTA, Fajr, Toronto and won numerous major awards.
Italian festival programmer Maria Teresa Cavina started her career in 1989 at the Venice Film Festival where she stayed till 1997. In 2006 she started the Rome Film Festival where she stayed as artistic director till 2008. From 2009 to 2014 she has been programming director of the Abu Dhabi Film Festival where she co-created SANAD, a fund that supports Arab filmmakers and films relevant to Arab culture and heritage.
The 34th edition of Fajr International Film Festival will be held from April 20th to April 25th, 2016 in Charsou Cineplex, under the supervision of the well-known Iranian filmmaker, Mr. Reza Mirkarimi.
