TEHRAN, Apr. 11 (MNA) – Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev arrived in Tehran on Monday to discuss ways to improve mutual relations and the latest regional and international developments.

Heading a high-ranking economic and political delegations, Nursultan Nazarbayev was welcomed by Iranian Agriculture Minister Mahmoud Hojjati at Mehrabad Airport on Monday.

During his visit to Iran, Nazarbayev is slated to sign a number of Memoranda of Understanding with Iranian officials, mostly in the field of economy.

Economic activists in both public and private sectors of the two countries signed Sunday more than 44 cooperation documents being worth nearly a billion dollars.

Experts expect a new round of bilateral ties between Tehran and Astana will robust cooperation in areas as agriculture, trade, transportation, technology, industry, banking, energy, investment, transfer of convicts, and shipping.

The official welcoming ceremony of the President of Kazakhstan was held in Saadabad Palace today, in the presence of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.
