TEHRAN, Apr. 03 (MNA) – Iran’s minister of defense has talked to his counterparts in Armenia and Azerbaijan Republic to call both countries to stop hostilities and stick to ceasefire.

Brig. Gen. Hossein Dehghan urged both Armenian and Azeri sides to immediate cessation of hostilities and exercising constraint in coming to a common ground where differences should be settled through peaceful negotiations.

The decades-long hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh border region between two former Soviet republics took a violent turn in recent days when both sides opened fire to the other sides of the border. Since the war of 1992, Armenia and Azerbaijan Republics had been in a neither war nor peace situation and the conflict had been going on into the second decade of the 21st century.
