Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin had a phone conversation on Monday according to the official website of Iran's Presidential office.
During the talk, President Putin recounted the latest words he exchanged with his American counterpart Barack Obama over the regional issues and the case of Syria.
The same source recounts that President Rouhani thanked Mr. Putin for the call and the report and reiterated that more cooperation and coordination between Tehran and Moscow contributes to peace and stability in Syria.
The Syrian nation is the only authority to decide over the destiny of Syria, highlighted Rouhani in his dialogue with Mr. Putin while insisting upon the principle approaches of the Islamic Republic of Iran toward the crisis in Syria.
Rouhani also maintained that ceasefire is necessary to be preserved simultaneously with keeping talks between oppositions.
The Iranian President also restated that terrorists should be kept out of the table of talks and not allowed to disrupt the course of negotiations.
Hailing the recent gains of Syrians in retaking the control of ancient city of Palmyra, President Rouhani attributed the win to the capacity of Syrian armed forces and popular combatants. He also voiced satisfaction over the latest victories and urged for more international measure in controlling borders and cutting arm supplies to terrorists to ensure peace in Syria.
The Islamic Republic of Iran welcomes the development of bilateral ties with the Russian Federation, said Rouhani referring to boosting relations between Tehran and Moscow.

He also called for expansion of ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran and announced that Moscow holds no limitation in developing bilateral ties with Tehran.
