TEHRAN, Mar. 23 (MNA) – Secretary of Expediency Council and former IRGC general has said in the case of military confrontation with US, Iranians will inflict considerable damage on the enemy so that Vietnam War would seem nothing in comparison.

Mohsen Rezaei joint through a phone call Tuesday night to an IRIB News Network program ‘Night Headline’ from northeastern city of Mashhad during a live airing of the program where he said that Barack Obama’s New Year message for Iranians was highly inconsistent with the evil nature of the US threats; “our nation have well found that Iran is in constant fight with the US; we do not seek war with the US, however, we are in a daily fight to save the Revolution and country,” he added.

“As a new colonial power, the US still seeks to have Iran on its side and restore social and political conditions to those before the Revolution of 1979; the US has not recognized our Revolution as a genuine means of power transfer and will never come to terms with this,” he told the TV program. “As long as a regime of injustice and tyranny roles in Washington, we will have this constant fight against them.”

About Syrian crisis and recent developments, Rezaei believed that the US was in a state of indecision in Syria over Assad’s future role in Syrian political terrain; “they insist that Iran accept Assad’s flight, which will precipitate the chaos and insecurity in Syria and the region as well; they seek to bring terrorists to negotiation table; we believe they want a policy which will end in Iraqi and Syrian disintegration and degeneration into a long and internecine strife,” he emphasized.

On missile program, Expediency Council secretary and former IRGC commander criticized the US for hypocrisy, believing that the US officials had been demanding Iranian concession in many areas but themselves refused to improve on the situation in the region; “if they are honest, they [US officials] should cooperate to secure the region and destroy Israel’s nuclear warheads; a unilateral concession would not readily translate into effect, since we would not trust the west and the US and would not shut our missile program while the Zionist regime has the latest missile technologies ever built,” emphasized Rezaei.

Rezaei also denounced the US policy of negotiation with its historical enemies; “this sort of negotiation would not result in concrete outcomes. For example, late Mr. Yasser Arafat went to Washington and abandoned armed confrontation. But Washington discredited democratic elections in Palestinian Territories since Hamas was the winner, while the US was supervising the election,” he told TV program.
