Ali Larijani’s message congratulated the New Year’s Eve to all heads of governments in the region where Nowruz or Iranian New Year is celebrated as official holiday.
The message called for ‘changes in nature of policies’ in those countries as the nature renews itself; “I hope the New Year brings waves of justice, hope and prosperity for all nations. I strongly believe that the current international conditions and prospects of the events in the region calls clearly for the necessity of establishing security arrangements which lies solely in the participation and seriousness of all countries involved,” said the message.
“Parliamentary friendship groups and exchanges are integral parts of any attempt to promise stability to the region; I should emphasize upon the current condition following JCPOA implementation and the fact that the Islamic Republic of Iran welcomes any regional cooperation based on mutual respect and with the objective being security, progress and flourishing in economy and culture for all,” Larijani said in the message.
Central Asian countries, formerly Iran's sphere of influence in the Middle Ages and the ancient times, along with Turkey, Republic of Azerbaijan, Iraq (minority ethnicities), Iranians historically exiled in Goergia, and Afghanistan celebrate tاe Nowruz which corresponds to March 21 or 20 each year.
