Heading a high-ranking delegation from various sectors of Russian economy, Alexander Novak will arrive in Tehran upon the official invitation of Iranian Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mahmoud Vaezi who also chairs the joint commission of Iran-Russia economic cooperation.
The upcoming visit aims to pursue outcomes of the previous meeting of the joint commission on economic cooperation between the two countries which was held in Moscow in October, 2015 as well as to follow up the agreements reached during the Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to Iran.
Iran’s ICT Minister Vaezi and Novak of Russia will discuss and exchange views on the previous agreements between the two sides.
The Russian official is also slated to meet with several Iranian authorities including Iran’s Oil Minister Bijan Zangeneh as well as Iran’s Minister of Road and Urban Development Abbas Akhundi.
The value of trade between Iran and Russia in 2014 had experienced a five-percent growth compared to the previous year with a figure close to 1.7 billion dollars.
