Al Nasr club from the United Arab Emirates gained a 2-0 victory of Sepahan of Iran at the Al Maktoum Stadium in Group A of the 2016 campaign on Tuesday.
Nilmar found the net for Al Nasr in in the 57th minute while Pitroipa scored the second goal for the Arab team from the penalty spot four minutes into stoppage time left.
With the victory on Tuesday, Al Nasr avenged last week’s AFC Champions League defeat against Sepahan.
Meanwhile in Group B, Iran’s Zobahan played against Qatar Stars League champions Lekhwiya at the Foolad Shahr Stadium on Tuesday while the match ended in a 0-0 draw.
Zobahan had won last week’s meeting between the two teams thanks to a solitary goal by Mehdi Rajabzadeh.
The 2016 AFC Champions League is the 35th edition of Asia's premier club football tournament organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), and the 14th under the current AFC Champions League title.
