TEHRAN, Feb. 29 (MNA) – Head of Iran Dairy Industries Society said the first shipment of Iranian dairy products will be deployed to Russia within weeks.

Touching upon the export of first dairy cargo to Russia, Reza Bakeri stated “only containing cheese, the first shipment will be dispatched to Russia before the beginning of the new Iranian year (to begin March 20).”

“It is expected that during the next year, Iranian dairy export to Russia will reach at least 500 million dollars,” he added.

The official also noted that the total amount of Iran’s dairy exports currently hits 640 million dollars while the figure will double in case of exports to Russia.

Bakeri also pointed to the stagnation of the market for dairy products underlining “noticeable changes in dairy prices will not occur in the first six months of the next Iranian calendar year.”

“Everything depends on the rate of inflation,” maintained the official commenting “however, current numbers would not promise tangible changes and effects on prices.”
