TEHRAN, Feb. 26 (MNA) – Iranian Interior Ministery announced in a statement that due to the massive participation of the people in the ongoing elections on Friday, the voting time is extended for two hours.

Many voters across the country continue to cast their ballots in the elections after the interior ministry extended polling for two hours to allow more people to vote.

Polling stations were originally set to close at 6:00pm local time on Friday, however, voting was extended until 8:00pm.

Polls have opened on Friday morning for the parliamentary and Assembly of Experts elections, being held simultaneously across Iran.
