BRUSSELS, Feb. 15 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif held a meeting with the European Parliament’s delegation for relations with Iran, on Monday.

Heading a political delegation, Zarif arrived in Brussels early Monday to hold high-level talks with EU officials.

In his first meeting, Zarif met with Janusz Lewandowski, chair of the European Parliament’s delegation for relations with Iran and discussed Iran-EU cooperation.

Upon his arrival in Brussels, FM Zarif pointed to the upcoming visit of Federica Mogherini to Iran and said they will continue high-level talks on expansion of cooperation between Iran and EU.

Following the implementation of JCPOA and the process of sanctions removal by the European Union, Iran's relations with the European Parliament also had a considerable leap.

President of the EP, Martin Schulz, paid an official visit to Iran last year on October and invitited Iran's Parliament speaker Ali Larijani to visit the European Parliament.

In his two-day stay in Belgium, Zarif is also scheduled to meet with President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker.
