As the number of people congregating on streets across Iran is growing, distinguished figures of different arenas join the multi-million attended event.
President Rouhani joined the national march in Tehran from Behboudi Street and was welcomed by ralliers who shouted in support of him.
Major General Ghasem Soleimani, the commander of the elite Quds Force in Iran's Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), got on Enghelab Street of Tehran to join the rally along with other military figures like Iranian Navy chief Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari, and Iranian Armed Forces' Chief of Staff Major General Hassan Firouzabadi.
Also Brigadier General Farzad Esmaili, commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Air Defense Base, joined the mass at Valie-asr Crossroad, and Iran's police Chief Brigadier General Hossein Ashtari at Towhid Square.
Ali Akbar Salehi, head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Education Minister Ali Asghar Fani, Health Minister Seyed Hassan Hashemi and Deputy Science Minister Seyed Zia Hashemi who were among the attendants in the national rally in Tehran had interviews with the press people on location.
In Qom, senior clerics, Grand Ayatollah Hossein Nouri-Hamedani, Grand Ayatollah Abdollah Javadi Amoli, Grand Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi, and Ayatollah Mesbah Yazdi also attended the event.
Another interesting feature of this year’s congregation was the chants in support of a good election as there are only weeks to the elections of Iran’s Parliament coincident with Assembly of Experts’ election.
