According to the agreements signed between the embassies and general consulates of both countries, the diplomatic missions in Russia and Iran will issue multiple-entry visas for up to five years to the citizens on the list of categories envisaged by a memorandum on consular cooperation, including pupils, students and university teachers of both countries as well as arts and culture groups, TASS reported.
This document, which was signed on November 23, following a meeting of the Russian and Iranian presidents, Vladimir Putin and Hassan Rouhani in Tehran, aims to ease the two countries' citizens' travel and ease the conditions for exchange of trade and technological delegations between the two countries.
According to the memorandum, Russian authorities such as the Commerce and Industry Chamber, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and the Public Organization of Small Businesses can provide recommendation letters to Iranian consular establishments to ease the visa procedures for businessmen, TASS announced.
The new document also allows for the issuance of multi-entry visas to drivers of trucks and road vehicles involved in commercial activities.
