PARIS, Jan. 28 (MNA) – In the 1st day of his visit to Paris, President Rouhani of Iran met with Iranians who are living in France late on Wednesday.

Visiting Paris reminds me the days of the Islamic Revolution in 1979, said President Hassan Rouhani of the Islamic Republic of Iran in his meeting with a large gathering of Iranians who reside in France, referring to the years prior to the Islamic revolution when late Ayatollah Khomeini was exiled into Paris by the ruling monarch of Iran.

President Rouhani arrived in Paris on Wednesday afternoon, receiving warm welcome from French ministers and leaders of industry, in the second leg of his European tour which was kicked off on Monday in Rome.

The Iranians who live in abroad, especially in France, have played a bold role along with the people inside the country over the last hundred years to reach the religion-based democracy in Iran, highlighted the Iranian president.

The senior Iranian official took pride at his nationality and praised his compatriots for their height of thought, brilliance, and service to humanity and all the contribution made by all Iranian across the globe for the honor of their country.

It is not all the past or the old civilization of our country that makes us feel proud of being an Iranian, even the victories of modern Iran are boastful, underlined President Rouhani adding that it was thank to Iranians that the world saw a model like the JCPOA for resolving international disputes and it was the resilience of the Islamic Republic which annulled all the anti-Iran resolutions of the UNSC and IAEO’s Board of Governors.

He further boasted that under the advice of Iran’s Leader and upon the solidarity of the Iranian nation, Iran’s right to enrich uranium and trade the product was credited by those who at first denied acknowledge the rights of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
